Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions explain the rules for using Firm Tutors, including our website, dashboard, tutoring services, tutor registration, verification process, payments, and communication channels.

Effective Date: 2026 Applies to: Students, Parents & Tutors

1. Acceptance of These Terms

By accessing or using Firm Tutors, including our website, dashboard, registration forms, tutor application process, communication channels, or tutoring services, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

If you do not agree with these terms, you should not use Firm Tutors. Very dramatic, yes, but legally necessary, because apparently websites cannot just run on vibes.

2. About Firm Tutors

Firm Tutors provides tutoring-related services, including online tutoring, one-on-one tutoring, student support, tutor matching, tutor onboarding, tutor verification, subject guidance, curriculum-based learning support, and related educational services.

We may support users across different regions, including South Africa and Nigeria. Available subjects, curriculums, tutors, pricing, and service options may differ depending on location.

3. User Accounts

Some Firm Tutors services require users to create an account through the dashboard. When creating an account, you agree to provide accurate, complete, and current information.

  • You are responsible for keeping your login details secure.
  • You must not share your account access with unauthorised persons.
  • You must notify us if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
  • We may suspend or restrict accounts that provide false information or misuse the platform.

4. Parents, Guardians, and Students

Parents or guardians who register students for tutoring are responsible for ensuring that the information provided is accurate and that they have authority to request tutoring support for the student.

Students are expected to attend sessions on time, participate respectfully, and use the tutoring services for educational purposes only.

Parent or Guardian Responsibility

Parents or guardians should supervise the studentโ€™s use of the service where appropriate, especially where the student is a minor.

Student Learning Support

Firm Tutors provides tutoring support, but academic improvement also depends on attendance, effort, practice, school requirements, and learner participation.

5. Tutors and Tutor Registration

Tutors who wish to join Firm Tutors must create an account, select or switch to the tutor account option where required, complete the required information, verify their email, and sign in to the dashboard.

Tutors must provide truthful, accurate, and complete information about their qualifications, experience, subjects, availability, identity, and suitability to provide tutoring services.

  • Tutors must not misrepresent qualifications, experience, identity, or teaching ability.
  • Tutors must communicate professionally with students, parents, guardians, and Firm Tutors staff.
  • Tutors must not use the platform to solicit users outside approved Firm Tutors processes.
  • Tutors are responsible for keeping their profile information accurate and up to date.

6. Tutor Verification Process

Tutors may be required to complete a verification process inside the dashboard before becoming visible or available to clients.

The tutor verification process may require submission of documents such as:

  • CV or rรฉsumรฉ.
  • Professional profile picture.
  • Proof of payment, where applicable.
  • Identity documents.
  • Certificates, qualifications, and supporting documents.
  • Additional information requested by Firm Tutors.

Firm Tutors may approve, reject, delay, or request additional information for any tutor application. Approval is not guaranteed.

Once verified, tutors may be allowed to complete their public tutor profile. Clients may then be able to view selected tutor profile details on the platform.

7. Payments, Fees, and Billing

Fees may apply to tutoring services, tutor registration, verification, packages, subscriptions, or other services offered by Firm Tutors. The applicable fees will be shown or communicated before payment is required.

  • Users are responsible for paying fees on time.
  • Proof of payment may be required before access, approval, or service delivery.
  • Payment delays may result in delayed tutoring, account approval, or access to services.
  • Pricing may differ depending on country, tutor, subject, package, curriculum, or service type.

Unless otherwise stated in writing, payments are processed according to the package or service selected at the time of purchase or registration.

8. Refunds and Cancellations

Refunds, cancellations, missed sessions, rescheduling, or package changes may be handled based on the specific service, package, tutor availability, and circumstances involved.

Firm Tutors may refuse refunds where services have already been provided, where a user fails to attend without notice, where incorrect information was supplied, or where the request does not meet our cancellation or refund conditions.

Where a session needs to be cancelled or rescheduled, users should notify Firm Tutors or the relevant tutor as early as possible.

9. Tutoring Sessions

Tutoring sessions may take place online, in person, or through another agreed method depending on location, tutor availability, package type, and service arrangement.

  • Students should attend sessions on time and be prepared.
  • Tutors should deliver sessions professionally and in line with agreed subject support.
  • Parents or guardians should ensure that students have the necessary tools, internet access, materials, or learning environment.
  • Firm Tutors does not guarantee specific marks, grades, school placement, exam outcomes, or academic results.

Tutoring is an educational support service, not a magical academic vending machine. Progress depends on consistency, effort, learner participation, and the quality of information provided.

You must not:

  • Harass, threaten, abuse, exploit, or discriminate against another user.
